Good even!

Its pretty dark outside as I’m writing this. So good even it is.

Storm Eowyn has finished blowing through the UK, getting up to 100mph in some places, which is absolutely crazy. Have you ever heard of high winds shutting down half the UK before? And unfortunately, it’s very likely storms like this are going to get more frequent and more severe.

And yet, despite all this chaos, we have an orange douche on the other side of the world who thinks its all a load of shit. I’m talking of course about Donald Trump, the orange penis himself. He’s gone even further, often now claiming it’s all a hoax created by his enemies. And I don’t know if the scarier thing is the fact that people believe him, or that he believes himself.

For someone who claims to be a successful businessman though, I don’t see what he gains from being so stubbornly against renewables and other pro-environmental ideas. I know a lot of Americans likely had their livelihoods tied to the fossil fuel industry, and it maybe has a lot of historical value. But pushing against green initiatives at every turn is both short-sighted and illogical. There’s no long-term future in fossil fuels, and literally nothing but potential in renewables. It’s genuinely just spiteful and childish. Which I can’t say are qualities I would like in possibly the most powerful and influential individual in the world.

Anyway, fingers crossed there are enough safeguards in place to prevent him from causing too much damage. It was heartening to see at least one of his executive orders getting denied. I think it was the birth right citizenship one, so at least there’s that.
